Zimbabwe week 6

These pics were taken on Wednesday when some of the cousins had finished school for the term and returned home from boarding school. It was a great day of footy, soccer and cricket!

Also this week we had a rat episode hehe It was in the loungeroom and involved me standing on the chair while Gracious (approx 15y.o) and Plavian (approx 8 y.o) chasing it around the room and finally killing it with a broom - which snapped in half after a few hits hehehe

It was approx 2 hrs drive from our house to Great Zimbabwe Ruins in the Mercedes Benz with Joseph behind the wheel - dodging stray cows and people on the roads.Great scenery along the way, the only thing that remotely resembles the drive is the Grampians. When we got to Great Zimbabwe, they wouldn't let me enter as I didn't have US$ or rand, so we headed off to Masvingo to get some drinks. There we found someone selling Rand, so we bought some - 100 Rand for Z$240,000. My entry fee into Great Zim - Joe and his brother, David were only charged Z$20,000 each!!!! hehe So I made sure we took our money's worth of photos! We had a great time, climbed up the big hill and went through all the ruins - there was a busload of army guys there too for the day.

They are amazing pictures there Sally. LOVE the pictures. Was there much information about the ruins up there? The building is impressive to say the least.
